Role overview
Joining New Horizon Youth Centre as a Grants Officer offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a highly motivated team. With deep-rooted relationships with funders, the organisation raised an impressive £4 million last year, and trusts and foundations represented 43% of our income. As we aim for an ambitious £4.7 million goal this year, we’re expanding our Fundraising Team and seeking a passionate, dedicated individual to help us continue building on our success and securing vital support for our mission.

- Contract type and hours: Permanent. The role is full-time, 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. Some work over the Christmas period will also be required.
- Salary: The starting salary for the role is £31,200 (pro rata). The salary scale is: AP26 (31,200) TO AP30 (£34,736).
- Location: The post is based at: New Horizon Youth Centre, 68 Chalton Street, London, NW1 1JR.

Key objectives of the role
The key objective of this post involves supporting the Head of Fundraising and Grants Manager in securing income from charitable trusts and delivering exceptional stewardship and reporting for a dedicated group of funders. This position is key to building and maintaining strong funder relationships, ensuring the highest standards in communication and accountability
Reporting to: Head of Fundraising and Development
The key objectives of the post are:
- To support the Head of Fundraising and Grants Manager to secure income from charitable Trusts
- To provide exemplar stewardship and reporting for a cohort of our funders
Main tasks and responsibilities
Bid writing
- Working with the Grants Manager and Head of Fundraising to continue the development and sustainment of our trusts and foundations portfolio
- Researching potential new trusts and foundations to develop a significantly robust pipeline of prospects.
- Working collaboratively with the Grants Manager to support project proposals, set budgets and collect supporting documentation for larger trusts and foundations
Stewardship and reporting
- Manage and develop close donor relationships with smaller trusts and foundations while leading on reporting
- Work closely with the Grants Manager to ensure that all donors receive regular and timely progress reports and appropriate recognition of their support.
Other
To contribute positively and constructively to the development of the teams, service and NHYC. This will include:
- Covering for other members of the team as necessary.
- Following NHYC’s policies, procedures and performance expectations in all functions of the post.
- Undertaking as required any other duties compatible with the level and nature of the post and/or reasonably required by the Head of Fundraising.
